Robert Cramer Selected as Dean’s Faculty Fellow

Robert Cramer, Ph.D., the Irwin Belk Endowed Professor of Health Research at UNC Charlotte’s College of Health and Human Services, was selected to serve as the Dean’s Faculty Fellow for Community and Global Partnerships for the 2025-2026 academic year.
In this position, Cramer will drive external engagement efforts for the College of Health and Human Services, including creating impactful Charlotte-region partnerships, pursuing revenue generation streams and growing international collaborations.
Community engagement has been a focus for Cramer in the six years he’s been at UNC Charlotte from guiding students to develop materials for community agencies to conducting community-engaged research with various entities such as the U.S. military.
Cramer, who also serves as the associate director of training for the College’s Violence Prevention Center and is a member of UNC Charlotte’s Million Dollar Research Circle, has expertise in suicide prevention, hate crimes, program evaluation, collegiate and military mental health and the intersection of social science and the law.
“In partnership with college leadership, development and others, I intend to develop revenue streams and long-term commitments to support things such as program initiatives, student scholarships and more that will make tangible differences in the College,” Cramer said.
For the global part of the Dean’s Faculty Fellow role, Cramer, whose international experience is mainly in research, plans to lean into the collective experience of the College. “We have faculty who’ve done innovative study-abroad courses and who are involved in international professional societies at the leadership level,” he said. “My goal is to catalogue, support and strategically grow our international activity.”
