Public Health and Health Administration

The Department of Public Health and Health Administration offers an evidence-based education preparing students to lead impactful public health initiatives, expand access to quality care and improve community well-being.

Through interdisciplinary coursework, applied learning and hands-on experience, the Department of Public Health and Health Administration equips students to protect, promote, prevent and heal. Students are trained to understand community health needs and the operational realities of healthcare organizations. The integration strengthens research, increases employability and aligns with national accreditation and workforce trends.

The Department of Public Health and Health Administration integrates population health sciences (epidemiology, environmental health, biostatistics) with health systems and policy (health administration, management, policy analysis). This combination prepares students to both understand health problems and lead the organizations that address them.

With the goal of protecting and improving population health and preparing leaders to manage health systems, hospitals and public health agencies, the Public Health and Health Administration department partners with local health departments, nonprofits, hospitals and other organizations to provide student field placements and improve community health outcomes.
