Health graduate programs rise in latest U.S. News rankings

Public health, healthcare administration and nursing all climb in national rankings.

Three UNC Charlotte’s College of Health and Human Services graduate programs rose in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Public health, nursing and healthcare management all moved up in U.S. News’ 2023-2024 Graduate Schools rankings, which were released on April 25.

Public health graduate programs, which include the Master of Public Health, saw its highest ranking ever at No. 66 (tie), second among all North Carolina-based programs in the Best Public Health Programs ranking, up two spots. The program is tied with several top-tier peers, including the University of Virginia, Purdue University and the University of Rochester, and among the top third of programs in the United States of America.. The ranking is based on peer assessments.

The Master of Healthcare Administration moved up two spots to No. 41, ranking second among North Carolina-based programs in the Best Healthcare Management Programs ranking.

Charlotte’s graduate nursing programs also gained three spots in the Best Nursing Schools ranking, second among UNC System programs. The ranking is based on expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students.

In total, 11 Charlotte graduate programs or specialties increased their rankings in this year’s rankings.

This is one of several recent rankings for CHHS programs. In January, U.S. News ranked the online master’s programs in the School of Nursing No. 37 in the nation.
