Jenny Cook

I joined UNC Charlotte College of Health and Human Services in August 2026.   My career in higher education started at the community college level, where I helped students find their path towards career and life success.  I previously worked at UNC Charlotte in the Center for Wellness Promotion and spent several years working and volunteering in elementary education. 

Degrees

I graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and received a Master of Education in Counseling from Winthrop University.

Advice to Students

You are in the driver’s seat of your educational experience.  The road will have unexpected turns and you may encounter bumps along the way, but take those as learning opportunities.  Get involved, make connections, and find a mentor.  Don’t be afraid to ask questions!

About Me

I grew up in Florida, but moved to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina to attend college.  I ended up moving to Charlotte when I took an internship in undergrad and have called the Charlotte area home ever since.  When I’m not working, I enjoy outdoor adventures, camping, and visiting fun locations in the mountains.
