As Associate Dean for Research, Dr. Kulkarni functions as the Dean’s senior research executive officer. She is responsible for providing leadership to the CHHS research enterprise, including liaising and advocating with centralized research administrative services and supporting CHHS faculty development and success.

The CHHS Research Council includes members across all CHHS academic units and the School of Data Science. The Research Council was created to advance successful research activity within the college, guide the implementation of research initiatives that further the college and university strategic plan, and facilitate bidirectional communication between research engaged faculty and college and university research leadership. The Research Council members meet monthly with the Associate Dean for Research; participate in evaluating CHHS research enhancement fund requests twice year; and will engage the research active faculty in their units to foster a more dynamic research culture, which will include convening research active faculty during the semester to provide mentorship, better understand unit, college, and university research facilitators/barriers, and share information about resources, policies, and initiatives. In 2024-2025, the CHHS Research Council was expanded to include additional representation from CHHS research centers and academies.
