What is the Role of a Peer Advisor?

Peer Advisors serve as paraprofessionals in the College of Health and Human Services Advising Center. Trained Peer Advisors will work with undergraduate Pre-Nursing, Pre-Exercise Science, Pre-Public Health, Social Work Lower Division, and Health Systems Management students, primarily freshmen and sophomores, and help them with academic concerns and on-campus resource referrals. Peer Advisors will work with students through various interactions including one-on-one meetings, group advising, and e-mail correspondence.

How Can I Become a Peer Advisor?

You must be a sophomore, junior, or senior; have a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be a current student at UNC Charlotte. This job requires approximately 10 hours of work per week and is a paid internship with the University Professional Internship Program (UPIP).
